Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans

Prepare Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans in accordance with the state of California program mandated by the Federal requirements.

Justice & Associates was contracted to represent approximately 80 facilities in the preparation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans to meet the California requirements of the storm water program. Included in Justice & Associates’ areas of responsibilities was establishment of Best Management Practices for a variety of industries including construction, mining, manufacturing, vehicle maintenance facilities, storage and steel casting productions.
As part of this activity, Justice & Associates worked with seven marine facilities located in the Port of Long Beach, California. Justice & Associates prepared site maps in AUTOCAD for each facility identifying facility boundary lines, topographical features, nearby bodies of water, direction of storm water flow and identified outfalls where contaminants from various facilities could reach waters of the Untied States.
The Catalina Island Co. is responsible for all the commercial property on Catalina Island. Justice & Associates put together a master storm water pollution prevention plan encompassing all affected tenants. Justice & Associates also set up the monitoring and inspection program, including storm water sampling and analytical work.
In the state of California, there is no requirement for agency evaluation of SWPP plans. However, due to a variety of incidences that have occurred near the facilities for which Justice & Associates prepared these plans, the state has reviewed the plans as prepared by Justice & Associates and in all cases has approved them and noted their use of good engineering practices.
Justice & Associates also has been contracted to prepare annual storm water reports and file them with the state agency responsible for this program. Additionally Justice & Associates developed various training guides for these facilities to enable them to train their employees as to the requirements of the Storm Water Plans.
