Visual Structures – Permit a Spray Table Subject to Public Notification

Visual Structures, a manufacturer of projection systems, wished to acquire a permit to install a table to spray paint borders on projection screens.

Justice & Associates provided consulting services to secure the air permit from the South Coast AQMD. The significance of this project is that the facility is located less than 1,000 feet from two public schools and was therefore required to issue public notification of their intentions.

Justice & Associates measured the distance to the schools and prepared the permit application. When the public notice letter was issued, services included preparing the distribution of the notice to the parents of every student at the two schools as well as to every residence and business within a 1,000 foot radius of the facility’s property line. Justice & Associates also closely monitored public comments during the 30 day period following the notification to insure that any issue raised would be properly addressed. The permit was issued immediately following the close of the public comment period.
