Environment Consultant III

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Justice & Associates is an employee-owned environmental consulting firm specializing in air quality, water quality and land use issues. We also provide air pollution credit services through our sister-company, the Emissions Credits Exchange and source testing through Air-x testing.

OPPORTUNITY:

Provide leadership and consulting capability for a highly recognized firm at the forefront of the environmental and land use consulting industry. Play a strategic role in advancing the company's mission and objectives to promote revenue, profitability and growth as a firm. Participate in the company's air quality consulting to insure growth, production efficiency, quality, service and cost-effective management of resources.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Participate in the planning, development, and implementing strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for the firm.
  2. Act as a senior environmental consultant.
  3. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering disciplines will be strongly considered and 3 to 5 years worth of experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of Federal, State and Local air pollution and storm water regulations. Specifically, Clark County Health District and Nevada Department of Environmental Protection and/or other local agencies. Familiarity with the Construction Materials Industries (rock, sand and gravel, concrete, asphalt) is a plus. Must possess above-average written and verbal communication skills. Strong math, science, and Auto CAD is a must. Knowledge of GIS will be helpful.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Will become responsible for compliance assistance primarily in the air quality and water quality arena. The position will involve preparing air quality permit applications; health risk assessments, compliance evaluations and reports allowing businesses to build new facilities or expand existing operations. Application will be responsible for preparing annual emissions inventories, annual reports and ongoing compliance reporting. The successful candidate would be familiar with Local, State and Federal air quality rules and regulations. The position requires field work to audit facilities, prepare process flow diagrams and perform visible emissions observations. The position also requires frequent contact with clients, regulatory agencies and outside contractors, so strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Compensation: Justice & Associates offers health care benefits, 401(k), employee ownership in an outgoing, friendly work environment. Starting salary for this position will be based on qualifications.

Senior Consultant-Air Quality

OPPORTUNITY:

Participate in the company's air quality consulting to insure growth, production efficiency, quality, service and cost-effective management of resources.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  2. Promote the firm through written articles, and personal appearances and presentations at industry conferences.
  3. Act as a senior environmental consultant.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. A minimum of five years of air quality permitting and analysis experience is preferred with emphasis on off-road diesel emissions requirements.
  2. Previous consulting experience in the environmental arena.
  3. Specific experience in Reclaim and Title V is required.
  4. Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government and to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  5. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and be a self-starter.
  6. Familiar with the Los Angeles/Southern California environmental business community.
  7. Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Medical, Civil or Chemical Engineering disciplines will be strongly considered.
  8. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Justice & Associates is an employee owned company.  Working conditions are normal for an office environment including paid vacation, holidays and health insurance. Work may require frequent weekend and evening work. Work may require overnight travel.
