Julie Walker has a Bachelors degree in Soils with an emphasis on Environmental Science and a minor in Water Resources from Montana State University. Before joining Justice & Associates, she worked as a Watershed Coordinator in Eastern Montana. Her work included researching watersheds in the area to determine natural resource concerns, such as erosion and water quality. She has also assisted in environmental planning for the area.
Julie has over 5 years experience dealing with the Clark County Department of Air Quality and Environmental Management (DAQEM) and its predecessors. During her time with Justice & Associates Julie has assisted clients with obtaining air permits for both stationary and portable sources in Las Vegas and the surrounding areas of Nevada. Her other responsibilities include creating AutoCAD drawings, preparing flow diagrams, preparing dust control plans and conducting bi-weekly flow checks for PM10 monitoring stations at three locations in Clark County.
Julie also has experience dealing with regulatory and permitting issues dealing with the hotel/casino industry. Such issues include the permitting of boilers, cooling towers and emergency generators as well as resulting compliance issues such as reporting and recordkeeping.
Julie prepares Annual Emission Inventory Reports (AEIRs) for a variety of facilities in the Clark County DAQEM and the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection. This task includes evaluating process and engine throughput and emissions data in order to determine compliance with permit/regulatory constraints. Facilities include asphalt plants, ready mix concrete plants and a variety of other industries. She is also familiar with Toxic Release Inventory reporting requirements.
Julie has been certified to evaluate visible emissions in accordance with EPA Method 9 which aids her in keeping Justice & Associates’ clients in compliance with federal New Source Performance Standards.
